snow day!

normally in Alberta people tend to ignore snowstorms and treat them like they’re no biggie. i mean, everyone has a big truck, right?

right.

so i knew when it was bad enough for Rob to send his men home, and most other companies in town were doing the same that April and i were exactly where we needed to be.

chilling on the couch, eating mr. noodles and watching movies.

it was my kind of snow day monday.

we’re never actually really ready for winter, but keeping cozy with duvets and pillows on the couch sure is a good way to make it as good as it could possibly be.

if you need us, you know where we’ll be.

oh hey sunshine!

hello brown grass!

it’s been a long, cold dreary winter in central alberta. i figured you wouldn’t want to hear me repeatedly talk about that on the blog so i took it upon myself to hibernate for awhile.

winter. we are through with you.

winter. we are through with you.

it’s amazing what sunshine can do for the soul though, and i’m feeling inspired by the above zero temperatures to let you know that we have a life again!

to get you up to speed on some of the winter happenings….

we did a little revamping of April’s toy zone. out with the 3+ month toys that were lingering at the bottom of her tupperware toy box, and in with sensory bins! (inspired by the lovely!!!! Arlee over at Small Potatoes)

and maybe a little ikea shopping to upgrade the tupperware toy box.

colorful, but completely chaotic land of toys.

shopping for sensory bin fun!

don’t mind the dirty pjs being worn out in public. winter also wreaks havoc on the wardrobe sitch.

April has been up to her elbows in beans. they have also become scattered all over the kitchen/bathroom/bedroom/in coat pockets….

she’s learning about cleaning along the way.

who would have ever believed it that a little peanut could have so much fun with a bin, some beans and a few (very specific i might add) characters to romp and stomp in their new land of discovery.

this actually turned out to be a not so outside blog post at all.

let’s head there next.
